This is a fantastic way for anyone who wants to start or wants to start their second career in the aviation industry - while getting paid for it. The program supports new apprentice technicians during their first 18 to 24 months on the job, where they have the opportunity to become a certified mechanic upon completion.

Our facility is open at all hours of the day, almost every day of the year. Most of our apprentices work four days a week, ten hours per shift. Schedules are assigned to new apprentices based on business needs.

All apprentices undergo two weeks of initial training where they learn the basics of flight handling. This is a combination of classroom and hands-on shop time. After that, they are assigned to a crew and start working in the hangar on the live aircraft under the supervision of the chief mechanic.

Most of our apprentice mechanic positions are located in Everett, Washington. We also have a few in Kansas City, Missouri and the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

There are three levels of apprenticeship and each is designed to last 6 months for a total of 18 months. However, this timeframe is only a guide. Progression from one level to another depends on the ability of the apprentice and may be faster or slower.

After the apprentice completes the third level of apprenticeship and graduates, they automatically become an aircraft mechanic (with a salary increase) and continue to work for ATS, usually for the same crew and lead as before.
