Glock Military Pistol - This little Austrian pistol changed the world of duty pistols. To design the original Glock 17, Gaston Glock joined a council of engineers, professional shooters, members of the military and police officers. It became a submachine gun variant, and then the compact variant of the 17, the Glock 19, was born.

Glock pistols may vary in size, caliber, and brand, but they are all relatively the same pistol. Calling one or the other the flagship of the Glock line is problematic, although the Glock 19 is about as close as it gets.

The Glock 19 has become the official weapon of many special operations forces. Army Special Forces, Delta Force, Rangers, and even the CIA and FBI use it. The Navy SEALs call it the Mk27, the British call it the L131A1, the Marine Corps calls it the M007, but most everyone calls it the Glock 19.

Glock pistols are absurdly simple for a modern firearm. You can take a Glock down to its bits and pieces with nothing more than a blow. Reflecting the pistol's simplicity, just an eight-hour class will make you an official Glock gunsmith.

This simplicity leads to a very high level of reliability. These guns are known to take extreme abuse without stopping.

The popularity of Glock pistols ensured that a whole cottage industry sprang up to support them. This includes tons of holster options, magazine capacities, lights, sights, barrels, and more. Glock even makes optic-ready models that make it easy to attach a red dot. SOCOM has done this by adopting the Trijicon RMR as the optic of choice for these guns.

Why The Glock Model 48 Is Ideal For Smaller Cops

The Glock 17 used by General Miller, a former Delta Force commando, demonstrates some of the modularity that firearms offer. His model features an optic, magazine well, magazine extension and compensator. An individual operator can outfit the gun with optics, a suppressor bolt barrel, increased magazine capacity and more for any mission he may face.

The Glock has very simple external controls. You have a trigger, magazine release and slide lock. That is it. This simple design makes it easy to get the weapon into action.

Although the Glock 19 does not have a manual safety, it is not required: a professional soldier, police officer, marine, or spy should be able to safely use a gun without the need for a manual safety.

In addition, the gun has three safety devices known as Glock Safe Action. The trigger has a trigger safety that does not allow the trigger to be pulled unless it is pulled. To support the trigger safety, there is a firing pin safety and a drop safety. You can jump out of a plane, walk on your hand, or fall from a turret, and your gun won't just go off.

The Glock 19 is billed as a compact pistol, but don't let that fool you: it's still a gun big enough to fill your hand. The weapon has a 4.02-inch barrel, 7.28-inch overall length, 5.04-inch height, and weighs just over 30 ounces fully loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm.

It is smaller than most handguns of its size, such as the M9, M17, and M1911. The Glock 19 is about the right size that allows it to serve as both a service pistol and a concealable firearm. The CIA and the Marines specifically wanted a concealed handgun with the Glock 19. Other special operations forces have a different set of missions that may require a concealed weapon on Monday and a service weapon on Friday, and the Glock 19 is a true department size. for a role in multiple missions.

Any gun should be accurate, easy to control and can be used with any type of ammunition. The Glock 19 is all that and more. The Glock 19's trigger pull design makes it easy to engage the gun accurately. Its trigger pull is fairly light, with a positive and short reset that makes the weapon easy to fire.

It is large enough to be easily controlled, and its 9mm rounds are not known for their excessive recoil. The Glock 19 has no problems using standard ball ammo or the latest Winchester JHP loads. Also, her journals are very well made and basically last forever.

The Glock 19 is not a fancy firearm. It's not like a Staccato STI or some tricked-out racing gun. The Glock 19 is quite simple, but extremely effective. If you need a simple but well-made, fairly compact weapon, the Glock 19 is the way to go. The Glock 19 is the choice of armed professionals across many spectrums of warfare and law enforcement because it works and continues to work even when the chips are off. And when the chips are down, you need your gun to perform at its best.

We have already introduced our readers to the GLOCK 19X, the pistol developed from the model presented for the US military's XM17 Modular Warrant Pistol System (MHS) competition. We finally put him through his paces…

Why Is The Glock 19 Pistol The Favorite Of The World's Most Elite Forces?

The GLOCK 19X is developed from the model introduced for the US military's XM17 Modular Hand System (MHS).

For GLOCK 19X friends there is nothing new. Last year we started with what started it all, the GLOCK 19 MHS, the pistol that the Austrian manufacturer submitted to the US military's XM17 Modular Handgun System (MHS) competition and was selected as a finalist.

We've tested it extensively, anticipating that a "civilian" version will soon be offered on the market (GLOCK: Military G19 MHS Going Civilian?). Just a few months later, that gun became a reality in the form of the GLOCK 19X. We've covered the latter neatly in an article (GLOCK 19X: The New 9mm Pistol in Coyote Tan). Now, we've finally put it to the full test of fire - and fun, we must say.

The 19X is GLOCK's first "Crossover" pistol, combining the full-size G17 frame with the compact G19 slide.

In case you missed the previous episodes, let's recap some technical information. Chambered in 9mm Luger, the 19X is GLOCK's first "Crossover" pistol, combining the best features of two of its most popular and reliable field-tested platforms, the -G17 and G19. This polymer-frame pistol combines the full-size G17 frame with the compact G19 slide, meaning it offers plenty of firepower in a more compact size. The large full-size frame is actually designed for 17-round magazines and can even accept extended 19-round magazines.

Additional features include a GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB) for better accuracy, no finger grooves on the grip, ambidextrous slide stop levers, and a sling loop. Another Glock first is the fact that the 19X comes in coyote color with the first factory-painted slide, finished with an improved nPVD coating on the slide to prevent corrosion. The finish is made specifically for the military and is therefore very durable and corrosion resistant - simple times at Black Tenifer
